Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month for August, James Wheeler!

Albury Wodonga Ultimate Frisbee is incredibly lucky to have a volunteer such as James Wheeler. His positive approach, dedication and hard work ensures members of the club can enjoy many wonderful opportunities. James had a huge hand in organising the Border Hat tournament and recent Winter Indoor League. Many hours go into the organisation of such events, especially for the Winter Indoor League which runs over many weeks. For this league in particular, he was responsible for the weekly score updates, game scheduling and tracking of team spirit, individual spirit and MVP votes. James then professionally presented the results at the end of season presentation for all members to enjoy. Throughout the season, he made new players feel welcome and returning players feel valued.

This year, James played an essential role in submitting a 20-page grant application to allow the club to purchase a PIX4TEAM 2 camera to capture game footage. His application, created on behalf of the club, was accepted under the Local Sport Grant Program 2025 funded by the NSW Government. This equipment will be used by the club to capture significant league grand final memories, assisting with future training for representative teams and furthering the media footprint of the club in the local and surrounding area.

Thanks so much for all you do for our club James!
