VICTORIAN U18 COACH & MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT
Ultimate Victoria are pleased to announce the coaches and managers for the Victorian U18 representative teams who will be competing at the Australian Youth Ultimate Championships in Beenleigh, Queensland from 12th – 14th July this year.
Congratulations to the following Victorian U18 coaches and managers for the 2019 campaign for the Blaze (Women’s), the Bandicoots (Men’s), and for the first time in 2019 the U18 Victorian Mixed team.
Blaze (Women’s)
Co-Coaches: Nish Mahanty and Mabel Eldred
Team Manager: Elizabeth Chen
After 15+ years coaching club teams Honey and Chilly, Nish is really excited to be working with the Victorian Junior teams to help grow and develop the next generation of Victorian Ultimate talent. Nish is looking forward to a fun and challenging season where the team does well in both Spirit and Tournament placings.
After 3 years of playing with the Blaze, Mabel is extremely excited to be able to continue being involved with this special team, inspired to help young women grow as players and people as well as developing personally as a coach. Mabel is also motivated to defend the Blaze’s gold medal from 2018.
Elizabeth is really looking forward to seeing the new and returning players having a great time, bonding as a team and developing their skills throughout the campaign.
Bandicoots (Men’s)
Head Coach: Tipman Wong
Assistant Coach: James Walker
Team Manager: Sean Gottschling
Tipman is looking forward to working with the young players again this year and to see them develop holistically throughout the campaign. He hopes to build a campaign where players can look back at their experiences with great satisfaction having developed fond memories and long-lasting friendships whilst competing in a great sporting event.
James is honoured to be assistant coach of the Bandicoots this year and cannot wait to see how the players develop throughout the campaign.
Sean is looking forward to his second campaign as team manager and to continue watching the Bandicoots players grow as athletes and into young men.
U18 Victorian Mixed
Head Coach: Joshi Phillip
Assistant Coach: Georgina Burchett
Team Manager: Jacob Loughnan
Joshi is really looking forward to coaching a group of young and upcoming athletes, watching them improve and compete at a high level with spirit and passion.
Georgina is looking forward to working effectively alongside the head coach and other staff, and assisting the development of youth ultimate by creating a competitive and fun playing environment within the U18 mixed team.
Jacob is extremely excited to be team manager with this awesome team and cannot wait to show the rest of Australia how good our Victorian youth can be.
Ultimate Victoria wishes all our coaches and managers an enjoyable and fulfilling time building their teams in the U18 Victorian Campaign in 2019. We would like send out an enormous thank you to everyone for showing interest in and applying for these roles, and also a special thank you to the UV Appointment Panel in Jess Chadderton, Simon Talbot and Jack Toebelman.
