Success at Australian U22 Ultimate Championships!
Congratulations to the Leadbeater Possums, the Victorian Under 22 Men’s team, for winning the 2019 Australian Under 22 Ultimate Championship in the men’s division on the weekend in Canberra! That wasn’t Victoria’s only success on the weekend, with many other accolades being collected!

The men’s team won a closely contested final over rivals New South Wales 11-9 to see the title return south of the Murray. You can watch a replay of the game on the Ultimate Australia YouTube channel.
The Weedy Seadragons, the women’s team, also made their division’s final against New South Wales but weren’t as fortunate, being beaten 11-5. The replay of that game is also online.
In the mixed division, both Victorian teams qualified for the semi finals, and fought it out for third place on Sunday morning. The Blue Devils (Metro) were able to take care of the Greater Bilbies (Country) to take home the bronze.
Victoria had a near clean-sweep of the Most Valuable Player awards. Tracey Chong was the winner in the women’s division, while Ollie Loughnan was a joint winner in the men’s division. In the Mixed division, Abba Matthias and Hanna Seers from the Metro team were voted MVPs.
For the third year in a row, the Blue Devils (Mixed Metro) won the Spirit of the Game Award, with an average spirit score of 11.75 across the weekend.
The state was also well represented on Green & Gold merit teams selected at the event.
