2025 Victorian Ultimate Championships – spectator guide
2025 VUC takes place this weekend, February 22 and 23, at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve in Bendigo. Read on to find out about following the event in-person or online.
THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
VUC is the peak of the summer ultimate season for open division and women’s division teams competing at an intra-state level. The winners of VUC are awarded the Colliver Shield (women’s champions) or the Normand Brothers Shield (open champions) as the best team in the state.
Running parallel to VUC this weekend are the Australian Ultimate Championships Qualifiers for teams from Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. These teams are some of the best in Australia and feature some of the best players in the world!
Teams contend for either the VUC shields, or for AUC qualification.
INTRO TO ULTIMATE FRISBEE
VENUE MAP & SPECTATOR INFO
VUC is free to attend for spectators. Spectators are welcome to wander the venue and watch any game they like.
- The location of the disc and players on a field can change very quickly, so please stay at least 3 metres from field boundaries at all times. Fields are marked out by painted lines and yellow cones.
- Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Shade tents erected by fields are for competing players only. Please remember to slip, slop, slap! There is a shaded area next to Event Admin if you want a break from the sun!
- Please note there is no food and drink available for purchase at the venue. We recommend bringing a picnic lunch for the day!
- Talk to our friendly staff at Event Admin who will answer questions about the sport and recommend some good games to watch!

OPEN DIVISION
The Open Division will start with all teams in pool play on Saturday. On Sunday, the top six teams progress to AUC Qualifiers, while the other seven teams compete for the Normand Brothers Shield.

Saturday
- 9:00am – First games commence. Games are running all day Saturday.
- 4:30pm – Final round of Day 1 games commence.
- 5:45pm – Day 1 concludes
Sunday
- 8:00am – First games commence. Games are running all day Sunday.
- 9:30am – Open Division splits into AUCQ and VUC. VUC playoffs commence.
- 1:00pm – Final round of Women’s VUC games commence.
- 2:00pm – Approximate finish time of Women’s VUC final round. Medal presentations shortly after.
- 2:20pm – Final round of Open VUC gold and bronze medal games commence, and final round of AUCQ games (both divisions) commence.
- 3:40pm – Approximate finish time of Open VUC gold medal game. Medal presentations shortly after.
- 4:00pm – Event concludes.
