2023 Melbourne Hat, Melbourne Tournament & Melbourne Masters
What’s better than one frisbee event on a summer weekend in the middle of Melbourne? Three events!
The Melbourne Hat is on in December for the 35th year in a row. Running as a one-day event, players register as individuals and are placed in a team for the day. It’s a terrific chance to play with new people and make new friends!
Running parallel is the Melbourne Tournament, a two-day event for open and women’s teams getting ready for the club season, along with any other teams that want to give it a go. With many Victorian clubs already committed to attend this promises to be a great event!
On Sunday is Melbourne Masters, Victoria’s only dedicated event for masters-aged players (29 and over for women, 32 and over for men). If you’re eligible and have only played league or pickup before, then this is everything you’ve ever wanted in a tournament – shorter games, longer breaks, and no pesky young players getting blocks or goals on you!
All three events running together at the same venue – Albert Park – makes it one of the social sporting events of the year!

Melbourne Masters will be run in a “kings and queens” format – new teams are formed for each round, with individual win-loss records being tallied to crown individual winners. Melbourne Masters games will be played 5-a-side on smaller fields with shorter rounds.
Open and women’s winners will be crowned in the following divisions (age as at 31/12/22)
- Masters (open 32-38, women 29-35)
- Grandmasters (open 39-46, women 36-43)
- Great Grandmasters (open 47+, women 44+)
