River Crossing
Setup
- Cones or lines to mark each “bank” of the river at each end of the playing space, about 25m apart
- Groups of three or four participants
- One disc per group
Objective
- Be the fastest team to move the disc from one side of the “river” to the other by throwing between participants
Area
- Show the participants which lines indicate the “banks”
Functions
- Players move the disc by passing to each other
- If the disc is dropped, the whole team needs to go back to the “bank” and start again
Safety
- You can take extra steps to slow down, but once you have stopped you cannot move until you have thrown the disc.
- Players return to the starting point by going around the outside of the playing area
CHANGE IT ideas
- Area: make the river bigger or smaller
- Number of players: less per team encourages more passes
- Game rules: add a challenge of which team can do it in the least number of passes
