GUTS
Setup
- Two teams lined up facing each other around 2-3m between players, and a 10m gap in between teams
- One disc
Objective
- Players have to try and throw the disc between members of the other team without them catching it
Area
- Use whatever space is available
Functions
- If a throw goes between players without being caught, the throwing team scores a point
- Throws must go between the players – they cannot go above their heads or outside their line
- If the other team catches the disc, they get to throw
Safety
CHANGE IT ideas
- How to score/win: play to a set score, then swap ends or mix up teams
- Game rules: either the team that scores throws next (harder to score) or or the team that got scored on throws next (easier to score)
- Number of players: each team can have any number of players, who all take turns throwing
BOTTLE GUTS
Setup
- Two teams lined up facing each other around 2-3m between players, and a 10m gap in between teams
- Each player has a water bottle, a block, a cone or something that can be easily knocked over
- As many discs as you want!
Objective
- Players have to try and knock the other team’s bottles over by throwing discs at them
Area
- Use whatever space is available
Functions
- If a bottle is knocked over, the player has to put it back up before they can attempt a throw
- If a player’s bottle is knocked over five times, they are out
Safety
- You cannot throw at someone who is ducking down to stand their bottle up
- Players should be wary of other discs being thrown when they are retrieving discs from the middle space
CHANGE IT ideas
- How to score/win: change the number of times a bottle needs to be knocked over
- How to score/win: instead of being eliminated, players join the other team. Play until all players on one team have joined the other
- Game rules: if the other team catches the disc, they get to nominate someone to knock their bottle over
- Number of players: each team can have any number of players
